Cade's Big News

Two weeks ago, on the 16th, I was changing Cade's messy diaper and talking to him, as I always do, about when he is a big boy then he can go poop in the toilet and wear big boy underwear.  He got excited and wanted to try pooping in the toilet.  When we were in Florida he used the toilet many times, even at the airport, so I wasn't surprised.  I didn't have time to put his diaper back on him because Aleah wanted my help using the toilet.  As I was helping Aleah, Cade got out a pair of underwear and started trying to put them on.  I said, "Cade, let's get a diaper on.", I was not ready to potty train him.  Of course, I had just bought a big box of diapers from Costco. My plan was to move him to a big bed and get rid of his binkie first.  He had other plans and said, "No, want underwear on Mom!".  I explained to him what it meant he would have to do if he wanted to wear underwear and he said, "I'm ready Mom!'.

Who can argue with a boy who knows that he is ready and he was sure ready!  He had a couple of little accidents and that was it.  I thought Aleah was easy to potty train!

This last weekend we moved Cade to a big boy bed!  He said bye-bye to his binkie and to his crib.  He was so excited!

Helping take down the crib.

Helping set up the bed.  I love that they are both in the same position, just like his Daddy!

He loves his bed!

I was worried that he would have a hard time going to sleep the first few times without his binkie.  I tucked him in and he was all smiles.  I didn't hear a peep out of him!  He is amazing.

He just looks so little in that big bed!

In other news, Aleah and Cade got new bikes.  They look so cute and so grown-up when they ride their bikes.  Seriously, I know that I can't stop them from growing up, but I just wish that it wouldn't happen so quickly.  They are doing really good on their bikes.  They can hold their feet up all the way down the hill by our house.  It is fun to watch them.

Brad and I celebrated our 11th Anniversary!  We actually got to get away for a night, thanks to my parents who let Aleah and Cade have a sleepover at their house.  It was my very first night away from my kids.  I can't believe that I did it and I'm so glad that I did.  It was really nice to relax and spend some time with Brad.

We went to Lowes Extreme Air Sports.  It has about six euro trampolines, pits, a tumble track, a trapeze, and a rock wall.  We had fun twisting, flipping, climbing, falling, swinging... until our legs were JELLO!  We went to a movie, out to dinner, found some delicious cake, and relaxed in the hot tub at the hotel since our legs were JELLO.  I missed Aleah and Cade, but I knew that they were having a great time with their Grandma and Grandpa.  I think I might have to get away again one of these days!

Gymnastics Meet

Two weeks ago Aleah and Cade had their first gymnastics meet.  It was so much fun to watch them preform the routines that they have been practicing.  They both did really well!

Waiting to warm up.

Marching out.  His march was so cute!

Beam, he is so brave, he walks on the beam all by himself!

Floor, he can do forward roll all by himself.  He loves doing backward rolls.

Vault, he loves to run and then jump, jump, jump.

Bars, he is so strong.  He can do a chin up and he can support himself on the bar.

He got a ribbon!

Waiting to warm up.

Marching out.

Bars, she can do a pull over all by herself by walking her feet up the wall.  She can support herself, swing her legs, do a cast-off, and a forward roll off.

Beam, she is getting brave.  Beam is her favorite event.  She has started walking by herself.  She can get on the beam, do her v-sit, stand up, and jump off.

Aleah's floor routine was the cutest thing ever!  She is shaking her hips.

Doing the disco pointing move.

The best robot ever!

She practices her cartwheels every day!  They are getting so good.  She likes me to watch every cartwheel she does and if I'm not looking then she will say, "Watch it!  Watch it, Mom!".

Vault is always fun!

She got a ribbon!
