First snow! And getting ready for Halloween!

Thursday morning we woke up to snow on our deck. But, I had to be a mean mom because we had gymnastics and so they didn't get to play in it.  I felt so bad!  On the way to gymnastics Aleah and Cade talked about the possibility of playing in the snow when we got home.  I tried to prepare them for the fact that the sun was going to melt the snow before we got home.  As soon as we got home Cade ran to the deck as fast as he could, opened the door, and then just stood there.  He was so disappointed! Again, I felt so bad!

Then next morning I was so thankful to see snow on our deck again!  As soon as Aleah and Cade finished their breakfast they got on their snow clothes, over their pajamas, and played for about an hour and a half.  They were in heaven!  And I was so thankful for the snow!

On Saturday we had our annual halloween party with my family.  I will post about it next week.  One of the games we play was a donut eating contest.  So I tried my hand in making some dairy/gluten/sugar free donuts.  They turned out awesome!

We got to carve our pumpkins Sunday evening.  We were all excited.  Carving pumpkins is so much fun.  This year we were able to carve all four pumpkins.  Last year it took us a week to get all of our pumpkins carved.

Cade quickly figured out that he liked using the spoon and not his hands.  Then he was all business and cleaned out his pumpkin really well.

Just like last year, Aleah loved cleaning out the pumpkins.  She cleaned out her's and help Brad and I with ours.

A lot happened at our house this week.  They moved our main water valve from the middle of our driveway to the side in the median.  That will be nice not to have it in our driveway.

They put in the wall insulation.

They got the exterior ready for stucco and stone.

And they put up the drywall!  It is so much fun to walk through it now that the drywall is up!

A little bit about Cade and Aleah:

Cade loves to sing!  He sings during his quiet time and he loves to sing at church.  Last week I was running a little late on Sunday morning so Brad took the kids to church and then I followed.  As I walked in the building they were singing the opening hymn and I could hear Cade singing.  I loved it!  He is such a cute singer!

To the dentist we go!

This week we made a trip to the dentist.  It was Aleah and Cade's first time so I have been preparing them for it for a couple of weeks.  Aleah was always excited and would say that she would be brave and Cade would go back and forth from, "I be brave" to "I no want to be brave".  

Aleah was ready right when we got there.  She did so good.  She got up on the chair, enjoyed the fun ride, and they were even able to get one x-ray.  The second one kept gaging her and so I finally said that she could do two next time.  Now she tells us, "I can do two, probably, when I'm 4!"  She didn't have any cavities.  She got to choose two toys and she got a new toothbrush, her very own floss and toothpaste and stickers.  

Cade kept saying, "I no want to be brave!' until he saw all the cool stuff that Aleah got and then he said, "I be brave, my turn!" and he climbed right up on the chair.  He just got his teeth counted this time, but he was very brave and did a great job.

Aleah and Cade love to floss.  So I think that they were most excited to get their very own floss.  They flossed all the way home!  They love their new toothbrushes and toothpaste as well and want to brush a few times a day.

Brad did great and didn't have any cavities, but I was not so lucky this time.  My dentist has always told me that I have really deep grooves on my back teeth and so we have always kept sealants on them.  Well, it has been a while since I have been in and so my sealant wore off a little and bam, I got a little cavity.  I was pretty upset that my, only one cavity, record was broken.  It wasn't a big deal, I didn't even have to get numbed, but I'm wishing that I had gone in earlier so that I could have had my sealant replaced instead of getting a cavity!

Our house was still on hold until we finally passed our 4 way inspection on Friday.  It was the third inspection.  So not a lot has been done this week.  Here is a picture of Aleah's and Cade's names that their uncle Todd helped them write on the wall.

They cut the curb for our driveway and installed our exterior doors.

We finally put our current house for rent on ksl.  We have had a few calls and we are excited to pick a good family to live in our house.  It will be nice to get that all figured out!  One family is moving here from Florida and they don't need it until the second week in December which would be awesome timing for us since we close on the 3rd.  That would make it so that we could move out of our current house straight into our new house!
