Brad took me to Hawaii for our nine year anniversary last week. We brought my parents because we have been wanting to go to Hawaii with them, my Dad hasn't been to Hawaii since I was two. We also wanted them to come to help us with Cade and Aleah. My cousin Erin and her husband Brett also came with us. It was wonderful! The weather was PERFECT the entire time. I had so much fun. For the full story you will have to talk to me because if I tried to write it all I'm sure it would be a longer post than it's probably going to be. So I will tell you some of the highlights and show you lots of pictures. I still need to get some pictures from my Dad.
The flight out to Hawaii wasn't too bad. I'm so thankful that my parents came with us because they helped us out so much! My mom had a ton of little games for Aleah to do. A big thank you goes out to my aunt and grandma for helping with that. Aleah was suppose to take a nice long nap. I figured that would leave about 3 or 4 hours of entertaining her. Which is a little more than what we have to do at church on Sunday. So I thought that it wouldn't be too hard. Well, she had only been asleep for about 30 minutes when the beverage cart woke her up. She tried so hard to go back to sleep but never made it. She was so tired for the rest of the flight and when we got to Hawaii the 4 hour time change didn't help. But with all the activities that my mom had and the fun run up and down the isle game, she did pretty good. Cade slept most of the way.
Thanks to my brother-in-law and sister-in-law we were able to stay at their villa right by the beach. It was so nice! We could put the kids down for a nap (my parents would stay with them) and go out and do some snorkeling, build a sand castle, go for a nice walk, play in the pool, sit in the hot tub... and relax! We went on a nice long hike to Laie Falls. It was beautiful. We found some yummy fruit on the way down that my Dad use to eat all the time when he was a kid. We took Cade on the hike which ended up to be pretty crazy. There were some cliffs that we had to climb down to get to the falls. At one point we had to take Cade out of the bjorn and hand him down so that Brad could climb down. Crazy!!! I couldn't watch!
We went to the temple, which if you know me then you know that it is my luck that it was closed. We went to the PCC. It was fun. Both Aleah and Cade slept during the show. At the end during the fire dance Aleah woke up. I thought that she might start crying because it was so loud, but she just looked around, saw everyone cheering and started turbo clapping. It was so funny to watch, we were all laughing which only encouraged her to clap even faster.
While playing at the beach one day Brad saw some turtles swimming. We were all bodysurfing since we didn't have a boogie board. I decided that I'm not very good at it and that I enjoy boogie boarding a lot more. So I grabbed Brett's little inflatable raft and used it as a boogie board. It was the best. I had so much fun! Aleah had fun running in and out of the waves. She liked playing in the sand and when the waves would come up she would just laugh.
The whole crew
