My birthday and other September events

The long school hours were hard on Aleah and on all of us.  Aleah loved her new class and her teacher, but she would say, "It's just so long!"  Cade told me one day, "I don't like school!"  Surprised, I said, "What?  I thought you loved school, and Mrs. Baca!"  Then he said, "I do, but Aleah is gone too long!  I just want to play with her!"  1st grade has been hard on all of us!

By the time September got here we had adjusted to our new schedule.  Aleah wasn't as tired after school.  But, Cade and I would still watch the clock and count down until we could pick up Aleah from school.

Aleah's teacher doesn't take pictures, which has been a hard adjustment for me this year.  I really don't know much about what she does all day!  I help in her class on Tuesday and Thursday mornings.  I help with reading.  It is fun too see a little bit of her day.

She has two recesses, which she loves.  Her first recess is after lunch.  I don't know when her second recess is, sometime after her lunch recess and before 2:15.  She signed up for the running club.  Twice a week during her lunch recess she runs.  She amazes me!  Her lunch recess ends at noon, right when Cade gets out of school.  Sometimes, if I get there early enough, then I get to see her doing running club and I always have to snag a hug!

Cade loves doing rotations in his class.  At each table they have a different assignment.  He is just like his big sister, he works hard and gets all of his work done.  I love that about both of them!  I help out in his class every other Tuesday.  I get to help with one of their assignments.  I got to help them paint a portrait of themselves.  It was fun!

On September 12th, Cade had to do pass offs at gymnastics.  He had to be able to do 75% of the level 4 skills to be able to compete this season.  He passed off all but one skill, he can't quite make his circle on the mushroom all the way around.  He is so close though!

School picture day is always exciting!  We practiced their smiles before they left for school.

I love how their pictures turned out.  They are such cute kids!

Brad got home from a work trip in the afternoon of my birthday.  He gave me the rest of the day off. He did all the running around with the kids.  It was nice to have a little break.  After dinner that night we had some coconut cream pie. It was yummy!  That weekend we went on a family date for my birthday.  My amazing husband and children always make me feel so loved on my birthday.

At the end of September our nephew Bryton left on his mission to Congo!  We are so happy for him. He is such a great example and always so kind and loving to Aleah and Cade.

We went on a hike at Cascade Springs.  While there Aleah and Cade decided to collect leaves for a craft.  When we got home they came up with the craft on their own.  I love it!

Cade's picture is of our family jumping into a pile of leaves.  Aleah and Cade are saying Wee!

Aleah's picture is of her and Cade jumping into a pile of leaves.  I love that she wrote crunch and that she drew the pokey up part of Cade's hair!

The end has come! Aleah and Cade squished into the shopping cart car for the last time.  It took some pretty fancy moves to get them both in there.  Getting out was even more of a challenge!

My brother Nate and his wife Amy had their baby and I got to watch Manny for the morning and afternoon.  I loved every minute of it!  We had fun watching the cement truck at my neighbor's house. He loved riding Aleah's motorcycle.  I loved that he called it that since that is what Aleah and Cade always called it when they were little.

Once Cade got home the fun really began!  These two cute boys had so much fun doing bubbles and playing with trains.

Our New Schedule

Now that school has started our schedule is a crazy one!  Cade has his gymnastics class on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4:00 pm to 6:30 pm, and Saturday mornings from 8:00 am to 10:30 am.  He has his music class on Wednesdays after lunch.

Aleah's music class is on Mondays during her gymnastics class.  So she decided to take piano lessons from Brad and I this year.  Her Grandma Godfrey sent us some music books and she has been having her lessons on Saturday mornings while Cade is at gymnastics.  It has been fun.

Aleah has her gymnastics class on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays from 3:30 pm to 6:30 pm.  I'm thankful that their gymnastics classes overlap on Tuesdays and Thursdays!  Aleah gets to have a dance class for the first 30 minutes on Thursdays.

Most days we are busy with school, gymnastics, and music, but we still find time to go on hikes as a family and play with friends!

I love this crazy busy little family!
