We went down to St. George last week for a much needed vacation and Brad had to go to Las Vegas for a couple of days for work. Brad was gone on Monday and Tuesday, then he took the rest of the week off from work and we all got to play! I took a lot of pictures because we were having so much fun. I hope that you are ready to look at a bunch of pictures of my cute kids because here we go!
As we were leaving for St. George Brad called his Mom and she said that it was raining down there. We weren't too worried since we had driven down in January during a storm and there was just a little bit of snow here and there as we went through the mountain passes. Well, this time it was worse!
We were going about 15 to 20 mph. It added some time to our trip, but thankfully we were able to keep moving and make it through the pass. The people traveling north were not as lucky. There was a semi that slid sideways and was blocking all the lanes. I'm so glad that we were not stuck in that mess.
Every morning Aleah and Cade would wake up, super early, and read together until about 7:15 and then they would run upstairs to watch cartoons with Grandpa.
On Sunday we went to church with Brad's parents. Aleah and Cade had fun going to Sunbeams and Nursery. Then we had dinner with all the family who live down there. It was fun to see everyone and visit. Aleah and Cade had a lot of fun with their cousins!
Monday morning we headed over to the park that is by Brad's parents' house. We love that park!
Aleah and Cade were sad because the cushion ground pad was being fixed by the swings so the swings were closed for a couple of days. But they had fun climbing, spinning, climbing, and sliding.
Aleah always wants to do crafts and paint things when she is at Grandma's house. This time she painted a flower. I wish that I had a picture of the finished flower because she did a really good job, but I forgot to take one and we accidentally left it there.
Tuesday we went and fed the ducks and the geese. This is always one of our favorite things to do with Grandma and Grandpa. Aleah and Grandpa found a couple of duck eggs this time.
Aleah would throw a handful of bread and say, "That's for all the ducks!".
Cade would throw one piece at a time, right at a duck and then say, "Got it!". I don't know if he meant that the duck got the bread or that he got the duck with the bread. :)
After feeding the ducks we went to a park, but I didn't take any pictures because right when we got there Aleah fell off the swing and so we spent some time in the van icing her poor little nose and mouth. I turned for a second and she decided to try to get off of the swing by herself.
We had fun exploring Grandma and Grandpa's backyard. There were lots of things to see and fun rocks to climb on.
Wednesday Brad was with us again and we decided to go to the carousel. We found out that it didn't open until 11 so we went to a nearby park a played for a bit. I love the joy and laugher that a swing can bring!
These two kids love climbing and exploring! They just climb and climb, everything.
And these two love chatting! This is what they did most of the time.

Yay, when we returned the carousel was open! Aleah and Cade had so much fun. They had been looking forward to riding on the carousel since January. When we were down in January the carousel was closed for the winter.
I think that they were both smiling the entire time they were on the carousel. Cade got brave and let go with one hand so that he could wave to Grandma and then he waved to her every time we came around. Aleah liked waving too, but she loved looking in the mirror.
I didn't think that it would be warm enough to get wet so I didn't put the kids in their swim suites. After riding the carousel we decided to let them get their feet wet. I told them to try not to get their clothes wet and this is how they interpreted that. They are both so cute and so different!
Brad and his Dad took the kids back to the house so that Cade could have a nap and Aleah could have quiet time. As Brad's Mom and I were leaving Aleah asked me where I was going and I told her that I was going to lunch with the girls. Then she said, "But Mom I'm a girl, I'm really a girl! And I love Aunt Dawn!". She was right and I really wanted to take her, but I don't thin that she would have had as much fun as she thought she would have. I'm looking forward to taking her when she is a little bit older.
I had so much fun at lunch with the girls!
Wednesday afternoon we went over to the pool. There is a little kiddie pool and a big pool. Aleah loved that she could, "swim".
As she was swimming with Brad she would say, "Kick, kick, kick!".
At first Aleah and Cade were afraid to jump in the pool. So I sat next to them with my hands on their hips and tossed them in as they jumped to Brad. After a couple of minutes they didn't want me to help them anymore. They loved jumping in to Brad!
Thursday we took Brad to feed the ducks. Aleah and Cade loved being able to show their Dad how to feed the ducks.
We got to see a few turtles too.
After feeding the ducks we went to play in the water again and this time they got to get wet!
At the end of the little river the water went under the sidewalk and we could see the water through the grate. I found Cade many times standing on the grate waving and saying, "Bye-bye water!".
We had a picnic!
After lunch Aleah got cold. We wrapped her up in a blanket and she just watched Cade play. She is just like me, when she gets cold her lips turn blue, poor girl!
Thursday afternoon we went over to Aunt Dawn's salon! I have cut Aleah and Cade's hair since they were born. So it was time for a real hair cut. We had to wake Cade up from his nap and he was not happy about that. When we got to the salon he was not about to sit in the chair. So Aleah went first. She loved getting her hair washed!
She totally felt like a princess and loved having her hair done. She had a big smile on her face almost the whole time!
I love her cute new hair style. Aunt Dawn gave her her very own little can of hairspray because she was so good. She carried that hairspray around with her the rest of the day. The next day she was so excited to get to use it when we did her hair. She has to help me spray it because it is her hairspray!
After Aleah got done getting her hair cut Cade still wouldn't do it. I guess we will try again next time and next time I won't walk him up from his nap!
On Friday we went back to the park that is by Brad's parents' house. This time the swings were open, yay! Brad gives the best, "super underdogs".
Brad started a new thing called, "super high". Aleah and Cade got going so high that it was a little scary for me. I decided that that is one reason why they have a Dad! They were laughing so hard the whole time and kept tell him, "Super high Daddy!".
We played at the little splash pad that is at the park. Aleah and Cade loved to touch the water and then run away as fast as they could.
Cade got brave and touched the big fountain with his foot! The little fountain was their favorite.
Then they got silly and started putting their heads in the little fountain.
It was such a fun vacation. The kids and I loved spending time with Daddy and Grandma and Grandpa!
