...And I'll Cry If I Want To! This year there was no crying at my party. I had a wonderful birthday and a fun birthday weekend! Aleah and Cade were so sweet to me. They kept giving me hugs and saying, "Happy Birthday Mom!".
We kicked off my fun filled birthday weekend by visiting our new house. They poured the cement floor and the wood was delivered.
Aleah and Cade had fun walking on the wood. They would say, "Look Mom, just like at gymnastics!". They also thought that they were pretty cool to ride their bikes in the circle. They loved going around and around in a circle, giggling and laughing the whole time.
My boy LOVES all the rocks and dirt! He could spend all day playing in the dirt. Maybe we don't need to do our landscaping after all.
Saturday morning we drove up the canyon to Cascade Springs. Growing up I loved going to Cascade Springs. It's so beautiful and it was fun because of all the bridges! When we got there Aleah noticed a bridge right off. She said, "A bridge, let's go on the bridge!". Then she saw the next bridge, "Another bridge! Wow Mom, look, another bridge!". Watching her excitement made me feel like I was watching myself, a younger version of course.
I sure love my kids!
Aleah took a turn as the photographer. I think she did a great job. I sure love my husband!
YES! Another bridge!
We checked out all the signs!
Aleah and Cade were our hiking leaders. They would lead the way and then show us the next sign or bridge or water fall or beautiful tree. The tree colors were very beautiful!
Me and my girl!
Love, Love, Love!
A boy that we passed on the trail found a caterpillar. He gave it to Cade. Cade thought that it was the coolest thing. Aleah didn't want anything to do with it. Cade was laughing and saying, "It tickles!".
Aleah changed her mind when she realized that it wasn't hurting Cade.
She giggled and said, "It does tickle!".
Saturday night my parents watched Aleah and Cade so that Brad could take me on a date. We went to our stake conference adult session, which was really good. Then we went miniature golfing and out for a treat. I won the miniature golf game and it's a good thing because Brad said that the looser would have to buy dessert and I didn't bring my purse!
We had a little party at my parents' house on Sunday. My parents, my brother and his family, my Grandma Bushman, and my Grandma Stone were all there. It was a nice dinner and a yummy dessert.
Coconut ice cream and apple pie!
On my actual birthday I got to have lunch with my Grandma Bushman and my cousin Erin. We have been having lunch together every year for the last 13 years to celebrate our birthdays. Their birthdays are at the end of August. Aleah and Cade played and played in my Grandma's backyard and I got to visit and visit some more. It was wonderful! I am amazed at how independent they are becoming.
I have to throw in a little update and a story about Cade. His coloring has improved. I love to see the change from coloring all over the page to coloring on the picture!
We were at Target and we were shopping by the women's underwear wall. I was looking at a few items when I heard Cade say, "Mom, look a me!". I looked over and saw that he had pulled his shorts down, his underwear were still on. He was holding an underwear package and pointing at the picture on it, "See Mom, like this, the same!". Yes, Cade, I can see your underwear just like the girl in the picture!
