Preschool

Aleah and Cade had their first official preschool class!  We are doing a little neighborhood preschool with some of our friends.  They were super excited, and loved their backpacks or "packpacks" as they say it!

Aleah has figured out that when we all share a bowl of ice cream the faster she eats the more she gets!  We went to Cold Stone to get my birthday ice cream (I actually got sorbet) and she was shoveling it in as fast as she could and still managed to say a few, yums and "This is good ice cream!"  That night she asked me if next time we could each get our own ice cream cones.  She said, "You have to lick ice cream cones, not bite. Lick, lick, lick!"

Cade has become somewhat of a rule enforcer.  We were out riding bikes and some older kids came out and happened to go in the street.  I heard Cade saying, "Guys!  Get out of the street, guys!"  I looked over and found that he was in the middle of the street telling them to get out of the street.  So I said, "Cade, you're in the street too."  He said, "Oh!" and hurried back to the side walk.

Last week when we went to our house more wood had been delivered, but the framing hadn't started.  Day after day we drove past and still nothing!

We were told that they were going to start last Wednesday, they were late because of sickness.  Still nothing!  Then we were told that they were going to start on Saturday because of a scheduling conflict. On Sunday we found that they had started!  Yay!  It was much, but at least they got started.

We were so excited tonight when we found that the framing had begun!

It's My Party...

...And I'll Cry If I Want To!  This year there was no crying at my party.  I had a wonderful birthday and a fun birthday weekend!  Aleah and Cade were so sweet to me.  They kept giving me hugs and saying, "Happy Birthday Mom!".

We kicked off my fun filled birthday weekend by visiting our new house.  They poured the cement floor and the wood was delivered.

Aleah and Cade had fun walking on the wood.  They would say, "Look Mom, just like at gymnastics!".  They also thought that they were pretty cool to ride their bikes in the circle.  They loved going around and around in a circle, giggling and laughing the whole time.

My boy LOVES all the rocks and dirt!  He could spend all day playing in the dirt.  Maybe we don't need to do our landscaping after all.

Saturday morning we drove up the canyon to Cascade Springs.  Growing up I loved going to Cascade Springs.  It's so beautiful and it was fun because of all the bridges!  When we got there Aleah noticed a bridge right off.  She said, "A bridge, let's go on the bridge!".  Then she saw the next bridge, "Another bridge!  Wow Mom, look, another bridge!".  Watching her excitement made me feel like I was watching myself, a younger version of course.

I sure love my kids!

Aleah took a turn as the photographer.  I think she did a great job.  I sure love my husband!

YES!  Another bridge!

We checked out all the signs!

Aleah and Cade were our hiking leaders.  They would lead the way and then show us the next sign or bridge or water fall or beautiful tree.  The tree colors were very beautiful!

Me and my girl!

Love, Love, Love!

A boy that we passed on the trail found a caterpillar.  He gave it to Cade.  Cade thought that it was the coolest thing.  Aleah didn't want anything to do with it.  Cade was laughing and saying, "It tickles!".

Aleah changed her mind when she realized that it wasn't hurting Cade.

She giggled and said, "It does tickle!".

Saturday night my parents watched Aleah and Cade so that Brad could take me on a date.  We went to our stake conference adult session, which was really good.  Then we went miniature golfing and out for a treat.  I won the miniature golf game and it's a good thing because Brad said that the looser would have to buy dessert and I didn't bring my purse!

We had a little party at my parents' house on Sunday.  My parents, my brother and his family, my Grandma Bushman, and my Grandma Stone were all there.  It was a nice dinner and a yummy dessert.

Coconut ice cream and apple pie!

On my actual birthday I got to have lunch with my Grandma Bushman and my cousin Erin.  We have been having lunch together every year for the last 13 years to celebrate our birthdays.  Their birthdays are at the end of August.  Aleah and Cade played and played in my Grandma's backyard and I got to visit and visit some more.  It was wonderful!  I am amazed at how independent they are becoming.

I have to throw in a little update and a story about Cade.  His coloring has improved.  I love to see the change from coloring all over the page to coloring on the picture!

We were at Target and we were shopping by the women's underwear wall.  I was looking at a few items when I heard Cade say, "Mom, look a me!".  I looked over and saw that he had pulled his shorts down, his underwear were still on.  He was holding an underwear package and pointing at the picture on it, "See Mom, like this, the same!".  Yes, Cade, I can see your underwear just like the girl in the picture!

Red Ledges

We returned to the Red Ledges Nuskin mansion for the weekend with Brad's family.  Brad's sister Dawn and her family came up from St. George.  It was nice to have them there with us since we don't get to see them very much!  Aleah and Cade loved spending every waking minute with their cousins.

We got to swim.  Aleah practiced her bobs.  She is getting so comfortable in the water.  She is a water girl!  She would stay in the pool all day if we let her.

Cade accidentally practiced his bobs a few times.  When he came up he wiped the water from his eyes and went on playing.  I love that he is enjoying the water more and more each time!

They loved playing with their Dad!

Cade plays and then dries off and then plays some more.

Brad got to do some golfing.  We forgot my clubs, which we will not do next time!  He had a great time playing golf with his brother Todd and niece Katie.

Late nights lead to Cade falling asleep on the way to Jordanelle.

Aleah got to ride with her Aunt Dawn, Aunt Crystal, and Dad!

Cade woke up from his nap and wanted to ride with his Uncle Todd on the yellow one.  The rest of the weekend he had to tell everyone that he got to ride on the yellow one with Uncle Todd!

Throwing rocks is fun to do!

We went on a hike up to the top of a small boulder mountain that was by the golf course.  Aleah and Cade did great!  There were a lot of little cactuses that we had to watch out for.  Our nephew Corban bumped into one and it got stuck in his leg.  Poor little guy, it really looked painful!

Aleah loved playing Bubble Bobble with her cousin Sydnee!

Cade loved playing table tennis.  He was actually getting pretty good and could hit the ball now and then.  I had a fun time playing with him!  When he would serve he would say, "Here it comes!".
It is always fun to spend time with our family!  We had a great weekend and look forward to doing it again.  Brad's favorite part was swimming with Aleah and Cade.  My favorite part was playing table tennis with Brad, Aleah and Cade.

Here is what's new with our home.  They put on the tar and the window wells and put in the initial plumbing.

Then they back filled!

Aleah and Cade had fun running around the yard and finding big rocks.  We got to meet a few of our neighbors.  They are so nice!  They told us that it is a great neighborhood and ward with lots of kids and tons of youth.  After meeting our neighbors we are even more excited for our new house, if that is possible!
