Skeletons

We are ready and excited for Halloween! We love Halloween! This year we are going to be skeletons. I will post a family picture later. But really, if you are like me then these pictures of Aleah are the only ones that matter! This could be a super long picture post, but I tried to narrow it down a little. I have too many favorites! Oh, I think I'll post more when I post our family picture! Thanks Brittney, I had such a fun day today!

P.S. I know it looks like she is a skeleton ballerina, but I couldn't resist. What little girl doesn't need a tutu?

Conference Weekend and Gramps

For conference weekend we had the opportunity to go down to St George. We got to visit Brad's family and to have a little vacation in some warm weather! It was very nice. Aleah had fun splashing in the pool. She really wanted to get in, but I didn't even think about bringing swim suits. It has been so cool around here that I think I just figured that it wouldn't be that much warmer in St. George. I guess I'm not a real mom yet. Don't real mom's remember everything, even the kitchen sink?

Aleah enjoyed playing with her cousins! I think that she has the best cousins ever. They are all so sweet to her and she loves it! Check out her toes in this first picture. How does she do that? I can not do it! She inherited her toe tricks from her dad!

We got to spend some much needed time with Brad's grandpa, Willard Horace Godfrey, Gramps. We had some very special moments with him this weekend! We are so thankful that we were able to visit him one last time before he returned to our Heavenly Father! We love him so much! Gramps passed away this morning at the age of 97. He is now with his wife who left this life 31 years ago. I'm sure that he is so happy to be with her again! She passed away one month after Brad was born and one day after I was born. This is a picture of Gramps and his wife Grand Honey.

This is Brad with Gramps the day that Brad was blessed. Brad received his name and blessing from Gramps. Brad is named after Gramps, Willard Brad Godfrey. What an honor it is to be named after such a wonderful man! Our little boy will also receive that honor.

Another picture of Brad with Gramps.

This is a picture of Brad and his brother Todd with Gramps.

Aleah was two months old when she met Gramps. She was asleep, hence the car seat.

This is Gramps, Brad's dad, Brad, and Aleah.

We have learned so much from Gramps! He was so loving to everyone. The first time I met Gramps was on my wedding day in the temple. He came up to me and wrapped his arms around me and said, "Welcome to the family. I love you. I'm Brad's grandpa, you can call me Gramps." From that moment on I have always felt his love for me in his words and his actions! When Brad would call and ask him if he could visit him, he would say, "Yes, are you bringing Shay?" Brad would say yes and then he would say, "Oh good!" He was such a kind loving man. I never saw him angry and I never heard him say anything mean to anyone or about anyone!

Gramps was a good example of following the prophet. I don't think that he was ever in debt! He was very smart with his money, a trait that has blessed his sons and all of his grandchildren. We hope to follow his example!

We love you Gramps and we look forward to being with you again!

9 Months

My baby is 9 months old. I really can't believe it! Anyway, here is my 9 month old. She loves bath time and water.

She has found that her tent can double as a weight machine.

She will not leave her headbands on. I have to distract her, but as soon as she remembers that it is on then she takes it off.

She is very interested in animals. She loves dogs. She has started saying, ruff, whenever she hears a dog bark. It really is the cutest little ruff I have ever heard!

She enjoyed our boating trips this summer. I'm so sad the summer is coming to an end. We need more boating!

She loves standing. She is still not crawling. She needs help getting to the standing position, but once there she has a good time.

She thinks that her reflection in the glass is really fun!
I started thinking about the fact that I should start planning her first birthday party! Wow, it is coming up fast! She is so much fun and I am glad that she is growing up. I'm having a lot of fun getting to know her and I love laughing with her! She is so silly!
