Pioneer Day Party Party!

This year Pioneer Day was on a Wednesday and since no one had the day off from work, we decided to wait until the weekend to party.  We partied on Friday night and we partied on Saturday!  Friday night we met at my Grandma Bushman's house for root beer floats and fireworks.

We started off with some snaps, ok so it was more like a ton of snaps!  When we finally finished off all the snaps my brother Nate swept them up and there was a big pile.  It was a lot of fun, for most of us.  A few of the little ones were not too excited about the snaps.

This is Cade's favorite take my picture face, right now.  He says that it is his, "Funny face."

We moved to the back yard for our amazing fireworks show.  We had so many fireworks!  It really was a good show.  The finale was awesome!

This year we got some sparklers with really long handles.  They were a lot safer and they looked really cool.  The kids enjoyed them while we were waiting for the sun to go down a little.

During the fireworks Cade said, "It's getting super late!  We have to run home, hurry and brush our teeth, and hurry and get in bed!"

After the fireworks were over we headed to my parents' house for a sleepover.  The kids were so excited for their sleepover.  They were saying, "Sleepover!  Sleepover!  Sleepover!"  We got in the car and Cade was talking a mile a minute for about five minutes and then, silence.  They were both asleep! We got to my parents' house, set up their beds and then carried them in.  They stayed asleep the whole time.  Even when we put their pajamas on them and had them use the toilet!

Then next morning we had a pool party.

Brad was teaching us the proper way to use the noodles.  Relaxation!

The next week we got to go boating again.  Cade and Aleah are getting really good on the Ez-Ski.  They can make it move side to side and they love to try to jump.

 I had fun wake boarding!

Brad tried jumping on the air chair.  He did some good jumps.  He didn't land any.  He showed us what not to do on one of his jumps!  He had a really bad crash and decided that he didn't want to do that again.

I love to see the cute, creative activities and games that the kids come up with.  They came up with the car wash game.  They would send the car over to the car wash and then use the pom-pom to wash the car.

We have been spending some time at the pond at Highland Glen Park.  It is fun to drive Brad's boat around.  The kids take turns driving.

Then they stand in the water and laugh as Brad splashes them with the boat wake.  I bet you can guess that Cade had only been in the water a couple of minutes when he squatted down and got his bum all wet!  He said to me, "It's ok Mom, it's just ok!"
