We have had a wonderful summer! We have been so busy lately that I have not been able to write about all the fun things we have been doing. It's time to get caught up.
Cade absolutely loves riding his bike! One day he asked me if he could do a bike race. I told him that I would try to find one for him. That same day, I got an email from our pediatrician about free bike races for kids. It was meant to be!
On July 2nd we went up to Heber to the bike race. We didn't think about the fact that it was over 100 degrees until we were all standing there dying! By the end of the race the poor kids were all sweaty and thirsty.
When we got there we checked in and got their numbers to put on their bikes.
Cade and Aleah were excited to race!
They hung out with their cousins, who were also fellow racers, while we waited for the race to begin.
Then we headed to the starting line.
Cade of course, made his way to the front of the line.
And they were off!
Cade was going super fast. He was sure that he was going to win the race.
He was trying so hard to pass this girl.
Aleah was a little sick, but she still did great!
They both did really well for their first mountain bike race. They hadn't practiced off road so that was an adjustment for them. After the race Cade said that he wants to do a road bike race next. Maybe we need to practice off road a little more before the next race!
Cade won a bike horn and a brag tag. Aleah won spoke lights and a brag tag. They drank a ton of water and then we took them out to dinner. It was fun and great that they could do it with their cousins!
