A Wonderful Christmas Eve!

I felt like Christmas Eve was a perfect day this year, from start to finish!  We spent the morning as a family.  We had a couple of errands to run and enjoyed a nice morning together.  We headed over to Brad's brother's house for dinner, white elephant game, nativity story, and some wish lanterns.

Ever since Aleah's birthday party Aleah and Cade had been begging me to do face paint again.  So we started off our Christmas Eve party with some face painting.  Aleah got Olaf and a snowflake and Cade got the reindeer, Sven, from Frozen.

Our white elephant game was awesome!  Aleah and Cade both got the present that they brought and they were not giving it up for anything.  There was some good trading of presents.  Brad got to go last so, just like his Dad would have done, he walked around talking to everyone about their gifts and looking at each one before he picked the one that he wanted.  It was fun!

Aleah was Mary for our nativity story and Cade was a sheep, but he didn't want to wear the costume.  You can see that Aleah is still holding on to her white elephant gift!

Brad ordered some wish lanterns and they were amazing!  We decided that they represented the new star in our nativity story.  We went over to a near by park to light them off.  I love the joy that you can see in the faces of everyone as the lanterns float away.

I loved Christmas Eve so much this year.  I was totally prepared for Christmas and able to spend the entire day enjoying every moment with my family.  It was one of my favorite days ever!
